3 Semester hours :: An activity based professional development course focusing on practical understanding and application of the goals of the Common Core State Standards for English Language Arts & Literacy in History/Social Studies, Science and Technical Subjects and your teaching practices, K-12.
Course Description:

Make sense of the Common Core: ELA & Literacy through guided reading of the Common Core State Standards primary documents and outside reading. Choose and create activities to meet the goals of the Common Core with your students in English Language Arts & Literacy in History/Social Studies, Science and Technical SubjectsK-12 in Reading, Writing, Language, Speaking and Listening. Convert theory into practical application. Invite discussion with colleagues, watch informational videos and tap into resources that will support the implementation of the CCSS/ELA in your curricular practices. This is an essential professional development course for teachers K-12 to become informed, empowered, and energized to take on the Common Core!
